This article shows how to set up OBS Studio for all Vixi Suite apps.

Step-by-Step Guide

We will create a virtual scene in OBS Studio that overlays a your Raw Output over your custom background. This is intended for adjusting/cropping/resizing your Output. All other graphic composting can be done natively within the Vixi Suite.

1. Download, Install, and Open OBS Studio from the official website (https://obsproject.com/)

2. Create a New Scene: Click the "+" button to create a new scene under the Scenes section. Name your scene "Live" or "Photo Magic", etc

3. Add a Background Image:

        a. Click the "+" button to add a new source under the Sources section

        b. Select "Image" as the source type when the menu expands

        c. Give your image source a name (e.g., "Background")

        d. Click the "Browse" button to select the image file you want to use as your background

        e. Adjust the image size and position as desired by dragging the corners and edges of the image preview, or right click the preview and select "Resize Output (Source Size)" to auto-resize

4. Add the Raw Output Feed:

        a. Click the "+" button under the Sources section again to add another source

        b. Select "Browser" as the source type

        c. Give your browser source a name (e.g., "Raw Output")

        d. In the "URL" field, paste the Raw Output URL from the product you are using. The Output URLs can be found on the Settings page for each product.
        e. Adjust the width and height of the feed source to match your desired feed size

5. Crop and Reposition the Feed:

        a. Select the "Live" source in your scene that you just created

        b. You can use the crop and resize tools in OBS to adjust the feed's appearance

        c. Drag and drop the feed to position it correctly within the scene

The screenshot below shows a setup for Live, but the same steps are used for Photo Magic, Mosaic, Message, Groov, etc

6. Fine-Tune Your Scene:

        a. You can add more sources to your scene, such as text overlays, logos, or additional images

        b. Adjust each source's opacity, scaling, and positioning to achieve your desired look

        c. Use the transitions and filters options in OBS to enhance your stream's visual appeal

7. Play the Output

        a. Project the output by right-click on your source and hover over "Full Projector (Source) " and select one of the sources

       b. This will put the feed into full-screen mode. From here, you're ready to start your show

8. Add Transparency

        a. To allow transparency in OBS, go to the Game Capture source Properties page

                1. Create a new Source, select "Game Capture" as the type. Give it any name

                2. With that Game Capture selected in the Source section, click the Settings gear at the bottom
