Moderation Guide (Vixi Live)

This is a guide to moderating Vixi Live. Click here to view this page in a web browser.

Topics covered will include:

1. Power On Vixi Live
2. Select number of fans to display in output
3. Unlock the Show from Moderate screen
4. Display the QR Code to fans
5. Moderate the Show
6. Lock the Show when activation is over

1. Power On Vixi Live

This is performed on the main menu. Set the End Time for a couple hours after your event actually ends, and then click the Start button. The system is ready for use once the timer has reached 0:00 and "Status: LIVE" is displayed.

When the system is ready for use, it looks like this:

2. Determine the number of simultaneous fans you'll be displaying

One the show has powered on, determine how many simultaneous users you'd like to display on the Output. Make that selection on the Main Menu, in the Mode section. You can display 1, 2, 3, 4, or 24 simultaneous fans.

3. Unlock the Show from Moderate screen
From the Main Menu, click Moderate. In the lower right corner of the Moderate screen, click the button to Unlock the show. Once the show is Unlocked, fans will be able to enter by scanning the QR Code. (If the show is Locked when fans scan the code, it will act as if it just ended and will send fans to the predesignated URL redirect.)

This is what it looks like when Locked. Click it to Unlock.

4. Display the QR code to Fans
Once the show is unlocked, you can display the QR Code for fans to scan. You can display the code by itself, or as part of a larger graphic.

5. Live Moderation

Select the fan you want to highlight live on the Output by left-clicking them. The fan will be shown on the Output, and will remain there until the next fan is clicked. The fan who is currently live will be outlined with a pink box. The box will move to each new user as they are selected to “go live” by the moderator.

A typical flow is to highlight a fan for 3-4 seconds before highlighting the next fan for another 3-4 seconds. This is repeated for the duration of the activation. Remember to end your activation by Locking the show with the button in the lower right corner.

When a highlighted fan is replaced, they are moved to the end of the virtual line. The line is formed on a first come, first served basis.

There are 2 additional features you can use while moderating: Pin and Kick

Kick
Use the Kick Button in the top right corner of a fan's square to discreetly send them to the end of the line. The fan is unaware they have been kicked. Common uses would be fans who have poor connections or are acting inappropriately.

Pin
If you see a user that you might want to use repeatedly, you can choose to “pin” them. Pinning a user retains their spot in the grid and keeps their camera connected so you can highlight that user repeatedly without them leaving their grid location

To Pin a user, click the Pin icon in the bottom center of their feed. Once active, the Pin icon will illuminate with a BLUE background. (See top left user in the reference image below.)

Top Left: Pinned
Bottom Left: Not Pinned
Top Right: VIP
Bottom Right: Empty

5. Lock the Show from Moderate screen (this ends the current activation)
On the Moderate screen, click the Lock button in the lower right corner. This ends the current activation, and sends all participating fans to the predetermined URL redirect or End Card.

6. For additional uses in the same day, simply go back to step 2 and continue from there

7. Additional Features and Info (Settings Page)

Edit Phone Graphics:
This is where you setup the overall look and feel for Vixi Live. Click here to view the Phone Graphics guide

Edit Output Graphics:
This is where you can customize the output page. Click here to view the Output Settings guide

Participant Link:
This is the link that fans use to join the show. There is a button here to copy the link, or to download the QR Code. Both options have the same function, the only difference is that one is a link and one is a QR Code.

Vip Link:
This is a link that you can send to VIPs. Anyone who uses this link will go directly to the front of the line and will be seen instantly on the moderation screen. You can also use a QR Code for the VIP Link, but it's easiest to text or email the link.

Output URL - With Graphics:
Click this button to copy the Output URL, and then paste it into a new web browser to view the Output. Opening this version of the output will incorporate all of the customizations you've made on the Edit Output Graphics page. Click here to view the Output Graphics guide.

Output URL - Raw:

Click this button to copy the Output URL, and then paste it into a new web browser to view the Output.  Opening this version of the Output only displays the raw video feed and no other graphics. Depending on which of the 2 buttons you use, you can have the feed open in the upper left corner of the screen, or in the center of the screen.
