The Asset Manager is a page where you can create default settings for your apps. It saves you time by allowing you to upload your images just once, and use those images as the defaults for multiple apps. Instead of uploading your custom images to specifically Photo Magic, you can upload them to be used by all apps in the same amount of time, simply by using the Asset Manager.

When you are ready to set up your Phone Design or Output Design, use the menus in the Left Nav. All apps use these pages to configure their design.

Topics Covered:

  1. How to Select the App and Template to Edit
  2. Phone Design
    1. Capture
    2. Polling
    3. Streaming
  3. Output Design
    1. Capture
    2. Polling
    3. Streaming

i. How to Select the App and Template to Edit

The first step is to ensure you are selecting the proper app and template that you wish to edit. In the first dropdown menu, select the app you wish to edit. In the next dropdown menu, select the template you wish to edit.

All apps begin with a Default Template for Phone Design and another Default Template for Output Design. A typical flow would be to edit and Save the Default Template, but alternatively you can create additional Templates for when you want to have a different look simply by selecting Save As, and choosing a new name for the new template.

ii. Phone Design

In this section, we'll review Phone Design. All apps have their own saved template specific to that app, and you can have multiple templates for different themes. Note that you must customize the Phone Design separately for each app you intend to use.

1. Phone Design - CAPTURE

  • The Capture Page (left) is where fans take a still selfie
  • The Submission Page (center) is where fans review their selfie before submitting, and enter any Data you've requested
  • The End Page (right) is where fans are redirected after the activation ends

Phone / Capture  / SETTINGS

This section contains settings that affect various aspects of the Phone Design.

  • Auto-Redirect:This is an Off/On toggle that determines what happens when the moderator ends the activation.
    • Off (Default): When the activation ends, fans will be sent to the End Page / Post Participation Message. From there, fans can manually tap the screen to visit the End Page URL.
    • On: When the activation ends, fans Auto-Redirect to the End Page URL. They skip the End Page / Post Participation Message. You would use this when the URL is more important than the End Page.
  • End Page URL: This is the URL that fans will be redirected to after the activation ends. Commonly a sponsor page, merch page, or ticket page.
  • Camera Content Type: Select if you want fans to submit Photos or Videos.
  • Overlay: If you've uploaded an image in the Assets section (typically an outer frame), you can enable the overlay to display by toggling this On.
  • Show Guide: This is a dotted outline that displays when taking a selfie, and is used to help align for the selfie.
  • Include Camera: Very rarely, you may want to simply collect Data without fan pictures. To do this, simply toggle Off the camera.
  • Show Flip Camera Button: With this option On, there is an additional button that fans can use to switch their phone from the front-facing selfie cam, to the rear facing camera. If you want to ensure that all submitted images are selfies, this option should remain Off.
  • Submit Button Text Color: This is the color of the text on the Submit button.
  • Button Color: This is the color of the Submit button itself.
  • Button Text: You can edit the text of the "Submit" button to something else, such as "Confirm".
  • Font Type: Change the font used. You can upload a custom font on the Assets tab.

Phone / Capture / ASSETS

This section is where you upload the main graphics that are used in your Phone Design.

  • Title Image: This is the small image at the top of the Capture Page. When fans are preparing to take a selfie, this image will display right above the camera view.
  • Background Image: This is where you upload your background image that will be used for the Phone Design's background.
  • Post Participation Image: This is the image shown to fans after the activation ends, before they redirect to the predetermined URL. This image typically contains a Thank You or Sponsor message.
  • Background Color: Instead of using a background image, you can simply select a solid color to use as the background.

Phone / Capture / INPUTS

In this section, you determine which Data input fields you'd like to include. These data fields are visible by the moderators, but won't display on the output. The exception is when you use the Message App - with Message you'll decide which of the data fields will be displayed on the output, and which will be for moderator viewing only.

  • Name: Include "Name" as a data field
  • Email: Include "Email" as a data field
  • Message: Display a "Message" field for fans to leave a message. This must be On if you plan to use the Message App
  • Section: Helps locate the fan, for event/promotional purposes
